Pre-College Program at Brown University: Summer @ Brown
网址:http://www.brown.edu/academics/pre-college/
Each year, Brown welcomes students from around the world who seek a university experience in the United States. They come to Brown to experience the challenges of college-level learning, the independence and self-discipline necessary for life on a college campus, and to meet new friends from around the US and the world who share their academic interests and goals.
The university provides two divisions of summer courses in the sciences, social sciences and humanities for qualified high school students. Seven-week Summer Session Credit Courses allow rising seniors and new high school graduates to earn college credit in two courses that they take alongside undergraduates; these classes are equivalent to first-year Brown courses. Separate one- to three-week, noncredit Pre-College Courses are offered on an ungraded basis to pupils entering grade 10 or higher. Students take one or two classes per session and may attend multiple sessions. Courses include daily assignments, group work, site visits, labs and hands-on projects. Participants in both programs attend events and social activities and have wide use of Brown's athletic, academic and recreational facilities.

The college preparatory program includes study skills workshops, a college fair and trips to other colleges. Summer seminars, based on Harvard's freshman seminars, are limited to 15 students and allow for classroom discussions, close attention to writing and opportunities for independent research under a faculty member. Dances, trivia bowl, a talent show, musical groups, sports, and sightseeing excursions around Boston and New England are among the SSP's activities. SSP also offers distance-learning courses featuring online course materials, discussions and video lectures.

Yale Young Global Scholars
网址:http://globalscholars.yale.edu
The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Program was founded as a small pre-collegiate summer program fourteen years ago under the name Ivy Scholars. YYGS has now expanded to accommodate 600 participants and currently runs three distinct sessions: Politics, Law, and Economics; International Affairs and Security; and Science, Policy, and Innovation.
Summer 2014 was the first year of the Science, Policy, and Innovation session, which focuses on understanding and confronting emerging global challenges in the areas of public health, environment, and energy.
Global Scholars combines college-level academic study in applied ethics, business, economics, history, international relations, law, politics and public policy with strategic leadership and advocacy skills instruction. The program features morning lectures by Yale faculty, afternoon seminars on grand strategy, and mentoring sessions with distinguished alumni and rising professionals. Evening training sessions address the areas of public speaking and debate, writing, networking, social and professional etiquette, study skills and time management.

UPenn Pre-College Program
网址:http://www.sas.upenn.edu/summer/programs/highschool/precollege
The Pre-College Program is designed for rising juniors and seniors interested in the intellectual challenge and rigorous pace of a true undergraduate experience. Students enroll in one or two summer courses alongside Penn undergraduates. Our program offers more than thirty undergraduate courses in exciting disciplines taught by Penn faculty, staff, and visiting scholars. Successful completion of courses will result in official academic credits and a Penn transcript. Academic advising, access to university learning resources, and college admission workshops are also provided.
Rising high school juniors and seniors take either one or two University of Pennsylvania undergraduate courses for college credit through the Pre-College Program. Students enrolling in only one credit-bearing course also take a noncredit learning skills enrichment course; students taking two credit courses pay a higher tuition rate. Curricular offerings comprise introductory courses in the arts and sciences. Students are integrated into the university's regular summer courses and are subject to the same academic standards. Weekly workshops seek to bridge the gap between high school and college. Various social activities balance academics.

The Princeton University Summer Journalism Program
网址:http://www.princeton.edu/sjp/
We welcome about 25 high school students from low-income backgrounds every summer to Princeton's campus for an intensive, 10-day seminar on journalism. The program's goal is to diversify college and professional newsrooms by encouraging outstanding students from low-income backgrounds to pursue careers in journalism. All expenses, including students' travel costs to and from Princeton, are paid for by the program. Students who attend the program come from across the country. The program will enter its fourteenth summer in 2015.
This intensive journalism program enrolls highly capable rising seniors from low-income homes. Reporters and editors representing newspapers, magazines and television networks from around the country conduct the session's classes. Students tour New York City media outlets; cover a professional sporting event; film and produce a television segment; cover a news event in Princeton; and perform reporting, writing, editing and designing duties for the SJP newspaper. Boys and girls also sample college life and attend seminars on every aspect of the college admissions process.
