先来看看最基本的主谓一致，也就是动词与主语要一致。动词一定要和主语在人称和数上面保持一致，否则就会句子就会出现问题，例如：

The troll who lurched along the corridors was looking for the loo.

主语：the troll，谓语：was。

The phoenix that arose from the ashes has scattered cinders everywhere.

主语：The phoenix，谓语：has scattered。

代词和动词的一致也是主谓一致的一种，注意找出代词和动词未保持一致的错误，大家不要忽视，这也是常出现的考点。

代词不是名词，我们所说的代词常指：I,you,he ,she,it ,we,they ,their等多种形式，这里给大家一些特殊的单数代词，当他们做主语的时候通常后面跟动词的单数。

Each of the songs Imogen sang was off-key. (Was that why her knickers were in a twist?)

Either of the potions packs a punch.

Neither of the orcs packs a lunch. (But, then, neither of the orcs is a vegetarian).

代词和先行词一致，这里代词一定要和它所指代的先行词在人称，数，性上保持一致。有时候先行词是不确定的代词比如：anybody,nobody,no one,somebody,someone,如果是这种情况，那么代词应该用单数，例如：

Neither of the twins is wearing his propeller beanie

Anybody with any sense would refrain from serenading his inamorata on television.

1、The harmful effects of smoking on the vascular system is increasingly well documented.

答案：C

解析：A,B,E是主谓一致的使用错误，本句的主语是effects所以谓语动词用复数，大家不要被前面的harmful所困扰，，D所表达的是吸烟的有害作用得到了增强而不是文件提供的证明,改变了句意。该题的考察点就是主谓一致的问题，但是非常简单如果大家做的熟练了相信一眼就可以挑出错误。

2、The poem's colorful images and its verbal wit give the reader pleasure.

(A)give the reader pleasure

(B)please the one who is reading

(C)gives pleasure to the one who reads it

(D)give one pleasure in the reading of it

(E)gives one pleasure in reading it

句意：诗人丰富多彩的影像和文字上的智慧给读者带来快乐

答案：A

解析：B中用词冗余可以直接表达reader pleasure，C，E中的动词应该是give，因为前面对应的主语是images,verbal wit两个主语应该用复数give，D用词冗余
